Habitat Community Repair Event!
What is this? We will work together as community to help homeowners who may be struggling to take care of certain chores at their home. Some examples of projects may be clean up, mulch, landscaping, trimming shrubs, power-washing, repairing a fence, doing some painting, etc... We will also walk around some neighborhoods and clean up trash.
When? September 11th. Registration will begin at 8...with breakfast items and coffee. We will head out to our projects between 8:30 and 9:00am.
Where? Registration and breakfast will take place at the Serenity Center on 7th Street in the parking lot.
How can I help/ be involved? 1) If you know of someone who could benefit from having a group work at their home, you can send a private message to the Habitat for Humanity Facebook page regarding what is needed and nominate them as a potential project. 2) You can sign up as an individual or bring a group (church group, youth group, scouts, etc...). Just send a private message on the Habitat for Humanity of Shelby County Facebook page if you are interested.
Come join us in a fun day while serving our community. All participants will receive a t-shirt and breakfast. We will plan to wrap up projects around lunch with pizza being served at the conclusion.
